A highly dedicated and results driven professional offering extensive experience within the banking industry spanning over 14 years, with a very formidable command of the Kenyan business market especially the Shariah/Islamic finance and Banking space. Zakaria has extensive experience in corporate banking and specifically portfolio relationship management, credit appraisals preparations and operations, with a proven track record. As a seasoned team leader, he has the relevant competencies in training staff on Banking products, preparation of training manuals, sales pitches, and products. As an experienced banker, he has also demonstrated proven abilities in the successful launch of new banking services throughout my career. As one of the founding staff members of the Gulf African Bank, he participated in the set-up of the Bank especially on the corporate and operational banking section. Also contributed to the setup of the SME, Trade finance and Retail units through effectively setting up of budgets, preparing credit policies and creating products.

Zakaria uses strong communication and interpersonal skills to forge and sustain strong relationships with a large portfolio of clients whilst effectively managing and motivating large teams of Relationship managers. Through his experience and trainings, Zakaria has skills to persuading and influencing high-ranking individuals in big corporate organisations in Kenya. his opinions are highly valued, people trust and respect his judgments. A holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing Management, Diploma in Public Relations, and Marketing and through his course, he has developed passionate interest in non-profit voluntary works by actively participating in giving back to the less fortunate in the society. He is currently an alumni member of his primary school and through his dedication to this course, Zakaria was appointed to the leadership position of the Chairperson of the School’s Board of Management at Al-Huda Muslim Primary School located in Kajiado County, Kenya) A public School with over 800 pupils.
